The Shannon Airport Group Hosts Inspiring Networking Event for Galway Chamber Business Award Finalists

Finalists in the Galway Chamber Business Awards were commended for their innovation and creativity at a recent networking event hosted by The Shannon Airport Group. The event brought together over 30 representatives from shortlisted companies and Galway Chamber officials, ahead of the highly anticipated awards ceremony this Friday 21st November, sponsored by The Shannon Airport Group.
Interim CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, Ray O’Driscoll, shared his pride in the Group’s role as sponsor of the Awards, saying: “These awards are hugely important in spotlighting the innovation, hard work and entrepreneurial drive that are so vital to commercial progress. We were delighted to meet all the inspiring finalists at this event and welcomed the opportunity to engage with them as we look to the future of the region. Business leaders from diverse sectors, including MedTech, hospitality, retail, innovation, engineering, financial and professional services, began their day with a visit to the Shannon Airport Business Park. At Future Mobility Campus Ireland (FMCI), they heard from CEO Russel Vickers, who shared fascinating insights into the latest advancements in autonomous driving and advanced air mobility, highlighting the potential for innovation to shape the region’s future.
The group then enjoyed a networking opportunity at Shannon Airport where they were met by Ray O’Driscoll, as well as enjoying presentations from Airport Director of Shannon Airport, Niall Kearns, and Commercial Director of The Shannon Airport Group, Vanessa McTigue. These focused on Shannon’s innovations across accessibility, sustainability, route development and the customer experience, together with a behind the scenes look to future plans, and an overview of the Shannon Airport Business Park - a launchpad for the future of enterprise in Ireland’s West.
