Our Recruitment Process

In order to recruit the best candidates for any specific role, it is important to have a comprehensive recruitment process in place for both the employer and prospective employee. Below, you can read our seven-step process in full…

Submit an application

When you see a position advertised on our website, for which you believe you meet the qualifications and person characteristics, you must submit an application and CV for the position as outlined in the advertisement. 


Invitation to an initial interview

If your application is shortlisted for a position, you may be invited to attend a face-to-face interview at Shannon Airport with the hiring manager and a member of the Human Resources team.  First round interviews are conducted so that we can get to know you better and in so doing allow us to consider your suitability for the position, measured against the position description.


Second round interview

Following the initial interview, you may be invited to attend a second-round interview where we will aim to build up a more detailed understanding of your suitability for the position.  Second round interviews are normally conducted by a different panel of interviewers from the initial interview.


References

Successful candidates are required to provide details of relevant career referees, who the company can contact in advance of their employment.  Our Human Resources team carries out the reference-checking by asking the referees a range of questions about the ability and character of the candidate.


Pre-employment medical

The company reserves the right to require the successful candidate to undertake a pre-employment medical, which is carried out on behalf of the company by our contracted occupational medical provider.


Pre-employment security check

All employees in an airport environment must carry an Airport Access Identification Card.  In advance of issuing this, all card holders must be processed through a background security check, which is carried out for the company by An Garda Síochána. Successful candidates will be required to provide us with details to allow the background security check to be carried out.


Offer of employment

Successful candidates will be offered the position and provided with a contract of employment in advance of their employment commencement date.
