ROLE: PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
THE SHANNON AIRPORT GROUP
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Shannon Airport Group are a commercial, semi-state company and provide air transport and aviation services at Shannon Airport and its environs while also supporting the growing aviation cluster in the region. In addition, The Shannon Airport Group owns and manages a large commercial property portfolio of office blocks and a range of industrial, advanced manufacturing and aviation facilities in the region.
We are committed to delivering the best value for money through an effective and compliant procurement processes and we are seeking a talented individual to join our Procurement Team to provide support in managing and overseeing the purchasing function.
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of compliant, efficient, and value-driven public procurement processes. This position will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities in accordance with national and EU legislation, ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability. The role will support supplier onboarding/management, purchase order creation, spend analysis and preparing/managing tender documentation.
The position will report to the Group Procurement Manager.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Coordinate competitive tendering procedures, ensuring transparency, fairness, and value for money.
- Manage and process purchase orders ensuring accuracy and timely fulfilment using the in-house oracle ERP system.
- Secure quotes/pricing for lower value purchasing.
- Proactively support sustainable procurement across the Group.
- Maintain and update the procurement database.
- Ensure compliance with EU, National and internal procurement policies and procedures.
- Work with the Group Procurement team to provide continued improvement to the procurement function and to standardise documentation.
- Provide procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, promoting best practice compliance.
- Provide internal Business Units with a focal point for administration services associated with sourcing and procuring of goods, services and works.
- Work closely with the Finance teams to ensure that all financial requirements in supplier selection are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready procurement records and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should have
- 3 years Purchasing/Procurement experience is required.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Purchasing/Procurement will be an advantage, but not essential.
- Experience in managing tender processes, drafting procurement documentation, and evaluating supplier submissions.
- Third level qualification (Minimum FETAC Level 6).
- Ability to recognise and escalate risks appropriately.
- Experience in Oracle ERP system will be an advantage.
- Process-oriented with analytical skills, high level of attention to detail while working within defined procedures and policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft office).

ROLE: PROJECT MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Shannon Airport Group is a commercial semi-state company. We provide air transport and aviation services at Shannon Airport and its environs while also supporting the growing aviation cluster in the region. In addition, The Shannon Airport Group owns and manages a large commercial property portfolio of office blocks and a range of industrial, advanced manufacturing and aviation facilities in the region.
Reporting to the Head of Group Capital Expenditure Projects in our Property company, the role will be responsible for Project Management and implementation of multiple property development projects from concept stage to handover for The Shannon Airport Group.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- The delivery of selected elements of the company’s capital investment programme in full compliance with policies and procedures which include:
- Managing the external tender process for both small and large capital works projects.
- Reporting weekly on project progress and attending weekly review meetings.
- Preparing detailed briefing / project scope documentation to procure design team consultants.
- Liaison on forward planning matters; manage projects from concept stage to Planning approval.
- Provide technical support relating to Capital Investment construction projects.
- Overseeing feasibility studies and advising on evaluating and preparing property business plans.
- Evaluation of client requirements and advising on cost efficient solutions for investment projects.
- Liaison with various utility suppliers and Government Agencies to cultivate strong working relationships.
- Preparing recommendations and reports on Capital investment proposals to the Executive Management Team.
- Liaison with design teams on Cost Checking and analysis pre contract award.
- Effective management of tracking and reporting, throughout the construction stage of a project.
- Advising on cost implications and variations.
- Adhering to public procurement guidelines, ensuring compliance and competitive procedures are followed.
- Developing presentation material and collateral to support marketing strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should have
- A third level degree in Civil Engineering /Quantity Surveying /Project Management or Architecture.
- Minimum 7+ years post graduate experience in a similar type role, with a demonstrable record of taking construction projects from inception through to delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of current construction industry and technical developments.
- Experience of administrating Public Procurement Projects.
- Experience in Sustainability Projects would be an advantage.
- Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Power point.
- Experience in AutoCAD / Project Manager / Presentation Software an advantage.
- Possess a high level of drive and energy and the ability to make things happen.
